This page : Equipment, Tools, and Other Gadgets To Nerd Over

Here's the good stuff: equipment! Nothing can incite brewers' envy easier than some cool, slick gizmo can!

I'm using:

  • 15.5 gal S/S Keggle. Doesn't work too well for 10 gal batches, too heavy, too thick... Thinking of replacing it already, OR turning it into a hot liquor tun.

  • Bayou Classic turkey fryer kit, including propane burner and regulator, and 7.5 gal S/S brew pot. Found this on Amazon.com for under a hundred bucks.
  • I drilled the brew pot myself (and made a royal mess of it), and put on a 3/8" ball valve. Why not 1/2"? I don't know. Didn't occur to me.

Whenever I get around to finding a keg to convert to a keggle, I'm surely stepping up to 1/2" or even 3/4"!
  • Old-skool Igloo 48-qt cooler Mash-Lauter Tun with 1/2" ball-valve and homemade 1/2" CPVC Manifold (soon to be repl. with s/s braid)
Also another Igloo in better shape, I need to get switched!
  • Phil's Counter-Flow Chiller, picked up on consignment from Fermenter's Supply in Omaha, NE.
  • Ale Pails for standard fermenter/bottling bucket.
